Jenifer Wothaya has been confirmed as a Keynote speaker during Research Week 2020. She will speak during the virtual 2nd International annual Conference on Project Planning and Management. The theme of the conference is “Recasting Project Management to Address Sustainable Development Goals”
Jenifer was born in Ihuririo Village Othaya Constituency Nyeri County. She attended Ihuririo primary school before proceeding to Naromoru Girls where she attained a B grade in 1997. She later joined Kenya Medical Training College in September 1999 where she graduated with a Diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing in March 2003. Jenifer Continued with her studies at Kenya Methodist University and graduated with Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2014. She enrolled with university of Nairobi for a master’s program in 2014 September and in 2016 she was awarded a master’s degree in Project Planning and Management degree. Further, in 2017, Jenifer enrolled with university of Nairobi for a Doctor of Philosophy in Project Planning and Management degree with a specialty in project planning design and implementation. Jenifer has published 4 adolescents’ story books, 6 journals and presented over15 abstracts in conferences both national and internal conferences. Jenifer currently works as an Associate Program Officer in charge of Program Coordination at Family Health International (FHI360) Kenya in a program known as USAID Afya Uzazi Nakuru/Baringo program, From April 2011 to Sept 2017, she worked at Jhpiego Kenya as the County Integration coordinator at Kirinyaga then Kitui counties in an integrated HIV/ RMNCAH/FP Program known as USAID APHIA PLUS KAMILI. From May 2004 to March 2011, she worked at the Ministry of Health Kenya as the provincial PMTCT Coordinator in Central Province, Kenya. Wothaya is registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya. She was awarded with the 2008 Regional (Central Province) Nurse of the year 4th runners up in the Nation. She has also won several awards for exemplary job. Jenifer is also an ordained pastor and a breast cancer survivor and ambassador.
