Prof. Maria de la Luz Lima Malvido has been confirmed as a Keynote speaker during Research Week 2020. She will speak during the virtual 3rd Annual Victimology and Victim Support Conference. The theme of the conference is “Victim Resilience in Changing Times”.
María de la Luz Lima Malvido is an expert in victimology, criminology and in criminal law. She was trained at, “Violent Criminal Apprehension Program” (VICAP), FBI-PGR. She has a PhD in Law (magna cum laude). Professor Lima has been awarded a certificate in terrorist studies by the University of St Andrews, Scotland (2008-2009). María has trained police forces in México, Colombia, Guatemala and Honduras. And she is a professor and lecturer at different MScs in majors such as criminology, victimology, and prison law in Mexico, and guest professor at different universities in Argentina, Honduras Colombia, Santo Domingo, Croatia, and other countries. She was Sexual Offenses and Kidnapping Prosecutor. In 2001 was the deputy Attorney General of Mexico, then was appointed as Minister of Political Affairs, Mexican Embassy to the United Kingdom. She has been part in groups of experts of the United Nations Organization on topics in violence against women, gender, victim’s assistance and organized crime. Currently she is researcher and Professor of Victimology at Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Penales (National Institute for Crime Sciences. INACIPE). She is member at Academia Mexicana de Ciencias Penales (Mexican Academy for Crime Sciences). She was awarded the Irene Melup Certificate of appreciation given by the World Society of Victimology (2018).
