Transport-related decisions can contribute significantly to achieving climate neutrality due to the adaptation of transport systems serving as a factor in transport efficiency. In this context, the application of digital technologies for use in automation, sensors, and communication technologies as they pertain to the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems, make it possible to respond to transportation needs with sustainable solutions.
To recognize the worldwide sustainable innovative approaches and efforts that contribute to accelerating climate-neutral transport, it is a great honor to announce the establishment of the IEEE ITSS Presidential Award for Sustainability in Transportation.
This award is the result of a specific initiative as the goal of IEEE ITSS, as a pioneer in the recognition and promotion of technologies towards sustainable transport, is to contribute towards increasing awareness of a prompt reduction of greenhouse emissions.
The prize is intended for research organizations to apply and the winner will be endowed with a total of $6,000 and an award plaque.

A dedicated award selection committee will evaluate the received applications. The recipient of the award will be announced during the 2022 IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSC 2022) in Macau, China. The awardee is expected to give a featured presentation of their work.
