Early Career Grants Programme 2022 for Global Health Professionals

The Early Career Grants Programme 2022 is open for applications from early career researchers and global health professionals based anywhere in the world, who have not had research funding in their own name before. They can apply for a grant of up to £5,000 (GBP) to deliver a project over one year. The projects can be on any topic related to tropical medicine and global health, from across the research spectrum of lab, translation, implementation, and policy. Applications can be in any area of tropical medicine or global health.

Biopama Small Technical Grants for Eastern and Southern Africa

The objective of this call for proposals is to support the development of national and/or regional policies and actions based on scientific evidence and data. This includes for example (but is not limited to) the development of a national approach to sustainable financing, the development of a national approach to equitable governance and/management effectiveness, or the identification of other effective area-based conservation measures (OECMs).

Non-communicable diseases risk reduction in adolescence and youth

The European Commission is a member of the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD), an alliance of international funding agencies representing over 80% of the world’s public health research funding and the first collaboration of its kind to specifically address non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The GACD supports implementation science to improve health outcomes. This topic is launched in concertation with the other GACD member's funding agencies and aligned with the GACD call 2021.

Regenerative Medicine Clinical Trial Planning Grant

This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) provides support for activities central to the refinement and completion of a study protocol and procedures necessary for implementing a clinical trial to evaluate interventions (or new treatments) that restore vision in humans through the regeneration of cells in the eye and visual system. Applicants may use this grant to support the development of a detailed MOP; conduct non-clinical (non-human) work to collect safety/toxicity data; and/or conduct preliminary studies to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of regenerative strategies. 

Climate Smart Agricultural Projects

The AGCO Agriculture Foundation (AAF) is accepting grant applications for the 2022 granting cycle through our Community Investment software partner, Benevity. The goal is to identify non-profit organizations with new project proposals which combine various sustainable methods to tackle the specific climate change-related challenges of today’s farming communities.

Neurosciences and Mental Health New Investigator

Apply for funding to:

  • research Population and Systems Medicine
  • take the next step towards becoming an independent principal investigator.

You must have:

  • a postgraduate degree
  • the support of a host research organisation eligible for MRC funding.

There is no limit to the funding you can apply for, but the typical full economic cost of a project is under £1 million. MRC will usually fund 80% of the full economic cost. This funding usually lasts three years and covers up to 50% of your salary.

CHEST Foundation Young Investigator Research Grant

Funding to enable promising investigators to encourage and promote quality research in chest medicine to begin their career as independent research faculty.

The CHEST Foundation is the patient-focused philanthropic arm for the American College of Chest Physicians. The CHEST Foundation was established in 1996. Its mission is to champion lung health by supporting clinical research, community service, and patient education.
