Prof. Dennis Ocholla has been confirmed as a Panelist in the Value of Information Governance, Leadership and Ethics in Higher Education Institutions Webinar, Research Week 2020. He is a Professor and Head of the Department of Information Studies since September 1996 and has also served as Faculty and Vice-Dean.
His research and publishing focus is on Informetrics, LIS Education, Information Ethics, Information Seeking, Scholarly Publishing, ICT4D/Social/ Community Informatics and Knowledge Management. Prof Ocholla is passionate about research and is actively engaged in building research capacity in his respective fields of interest through research collaborations, supervision, mentorship and leadership.
He has made significant contribution to his field and is widely published in leading journals. He recently ventured into research and scholarly publishing, where issues relating to open access, digital divide, institutional repositories and research measurements are explored. Prof Ocholla’s research in informetrics focuses on the analysis of HIV and AIDs, Web links, Indigenous Knowledge, research measurements, research representation in databases and information ethics, among others.
