UON AND ARUA HOLD A FOLLOW UP MEETING ON CARNEGIE DATA PROJECT

Carnegie Data Project: Visits to Member Universities by Project Consultants

The Carnegie-sponsored ARUA Data-Gathering and Benchmarking Capacity Building Workshop held in Accra a fortnight ago was very successful. There were over 40 participants from 14 member universities. On 12th July 2022 the office of the Vice Chancellor (RIE) received   a visitor (Consultant/data coach) Dr Emmanuel Nii Abbey to discuss the work being done with data staff, assess the institutional support for the data-gathering exercise,  and discuss how best ARUA might be able to assist in improving the quality of the data and enhancing further the capacity of the data team. During the visit, the consultant is required to:

·         Look at the system in place for the data-gathering project

·         Have a one-on-one session with data managers to go through the data submitted to ARUA

·         Iron out some of the definitional issues that emerged at the workshop

·         Close any other gaps that might exist in the data
