ICGEB call for CRP - ICGEB Research Grants 2021

The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) is an intergovernmental organization established within the United Nations system to provide the developing world with a center of excellence in research and training in genetic engineering and biotechnology with a specific focus on solving some of the major problems affecting health, nutrition, agriculture and industrial attachment. ICGEB has been operating since 1983, through its three components of Trieste Italy, New Delhi India, and Cape Town in South Africa. The statutes that established ICGEB has been ratified by 66 governments including 13 member states from Africa. The Government of Kenya acceded to the statutes in on 30th July 2010.

The Director General NACOSTI, who is the ICGEB Liaison officer is therefore pleased to announce calls for proposals for ICGEB Research Grants for 2021/Collaborative Research Programme (CRP) – Research Grants. ICGEB offers a dedicated source of funding for outstanding projects in ICGEB Member States, Kenya included, with the goal of promoting training of young scientists and the development of research facilities.
