The Annual Tree Planting and Growing Ceremony at the University of Nairobi’s Upper Kabete Campus marked a significant milestone in the institution’s journey toward environmental stewardship. Led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Margaret Jesang Hutchinson, the event brought together university management, staff, and students at the Kantaria Agricultural Technology & Innovation Centre (KATIC).
On Thursday, 26 March 2026, the University of Nairobi (UoN) reached a significant milestone in scientific research and education with the official launch of the Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry (GCMS) equipment and a specialised food testing laboratory.
Innovation and commercialisation are no longer peripheral activities, but the bedrock of the University’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Margaret Jesang Hutchinson, made these remarks on March 25, 2026, during the Research and Innovation Week (RIW) 2025 Innovators’ Award Ceremony organised by the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) Division.
