About the Individual Research Fellowships Program

A core component of the APN, the Individual Research Fellowship (IRF) program is a vehicle for enhancing the quality and visibility of independent African peacebuilding research

This RFP focuses on the topic areas listed below. Under each of the topic areas, we provide examples of innovations we would like to see, but innovators are also encouraged to propose their own ideas related to these topics.

Eligibility Criteria: U.S. and non-U.S. public, private, for-profit, and nonprofit organizations, as well as institutions of higher education, public international organizations, and non-governmental organizations, are eligible to submit a concept paper under each Round(s) of the APS.

USAID/KEA welcomes concept papers from Kenya-led, Kenya-managed, Kenya-owned organizations. The Mission anticipates that local in-country organizations will implement both as primes and as sub-awardees, cooperating as part of a consortium or other type of partnership arrangement.
