Dr. Josiah Obare Confirmed as a Keynote Speaker at Research Week 2020

Dr. Josiah Obare has been confirmed as a Keynote speaker during Research Week 2020. He will speak during the virtual 2nd International annual Conference on Project Planning and Management.  The theme of the conference is “Recasting Project Management to Address Sustainable Development Goals”

Dr. Obare is currently a Senior Programme Manager at the British High Commission, Nairobi. His position contributes to regional security and stability through coordination of Government and International Community initiatives, pitching on peace and reconciliation in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism. He holds a Doctorate and Master’s degrees in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor's degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from Moi University. He continues to provide value addition to the academia through linkage of networks to community of practices.

He has previously served in UN peacekeeping missions in South Sudan as well as in the Security Sector in the Kenya's Ministry of Defence. His experience spans across peace building, negotiation, mediation and conflict resolutions. Dr Obare has research interests in Sustainable Development, Security Sector Reforms as well as in Terrorism and Violent Extremism. He is a member of the Kenya Association of Project Managers, a mentor in academic progression and a project management consultant.
