Mr. Ezekiel Esipisu has been confirmed as a Keynote Speaker at the 3rd Annual International Multi-Disciplinary Conference of the Research Week 2020. The theme of the conference is “Global and Local Response to Emerging issues in the Second Decade of the Millenium: Opportunities and Threats.”
Mr. Esipisu is the global Head of Programme Design and Development at Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO International) tasked with assuring quality of VSO’s programming to deliver scale, influence and impact across 24 countries in Africa and Asia (based in Pretoria, South Africa). An Alumnus of the University of Nairobi’s Department of Anthropology and the Boulder Institute of microfinance and sustainable development, and Durham Business School, Mr. Esipisu has applied his professional experience of more than 25 years to designing and developing sustainable programs delivered by development organizations including K-Rep, Plan International Kenya, IFAD, and Habitat amongst others. He is a prolific author, whose scholarly work on the subject of banking and micro finance in the South demonstrates the following, first, the unique approaches to the delivery of financial services to poor people, and second the advantages of mobilizing poor people's savings and providing loans to them without the need for special systems or new institutions. He has an excellent understanding of current development issues in Africa and Asia having worked in these contexts for more than 2 decades.
