Philip Waweru Mbugua Confirmed as a Keynote Speaker at Research Week 2020

Philip Waweru Mbugua has been confirmed as a Keynote speaker during Research Week 2020. He will speak during the virtual 2nd International annual Conference on Project Planning and Management.  The theme of the conference is “Recasting Project Management to Address Sustainable Development Goals”

Philip holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature and Sociology from Kenyatta University and a Masters in Rural Sociology and Community Development from the University of Nairobi. He is an official of the Commonwealth Scholarships Alumni Association of Kenya (CSAAK). He is the Founder and Executive Director of National Organization of Peer Educators (NOPE), a Non-Governmental Organization established in Kenya in 2000, implementing Health and Social Programs in East Africa. He have over 20 years’ experience in development work including Project Planning and Management, Resource Mobilization, Community Mobilization, Capacity Building, Leadership, Governance, Networking and Partnership Building. In addition he has acquired professional training and field experience through different organizations in Kenya and abroad Including Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU), University of California Management Development Institute, the Resource Alliance and CRESTCOM International. He has actively participated in several national committees and Technical Groups (TWGs) hosted by the government and other organizations. These include the Global Fund HIV Interagency Coordination Committee (ICC) and AMREF Ethics and Scientific Review Committee. Currently, Philip Waweru Mbugua is the chairman of the Board of Africa Capacity Alliance (ACA) and sits in the Boards of Stop TB Partnership Kenya and Children’s Environmental Rescue. At the global level, he is a member of the UNITAID NGO Delegation and the Developing Countries NGO Delegation to the Stop TB Partnership.
