Prof. Justus Wamukoya Confirmed as a Panelist for Research Week 2020

Prof. Justus Wamukoya PhD, has been confirmed as a panelist for the Value of Information Governance, Leadership and Ethics in Higher Education Institutions webinar, Research week 2020. He is the Dean, School of Information Sciences, Moi University since 2014. He has extensive University teaching and research experience in Kenya and Botswana. His teaching and research areas focus on records and archives management, e-Government, Knowledge Management, Public Sector Information and Records Management and Open Data. He is an internationally acclaimed scholar in records and archives management and is widely published in his research domain.

He is an active member of the East and Southern Africa Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (ESARBICA) and a member of various ICA Working Groups and Task Forces on Digital Records. He is also co-Chair of the ICA Africa Programme, previously known as the Africa Working Group. He has co-authored a number of text books in the area of records and archives management and in 2014, he co-edited a text book titled “Integrity in Government through Records Management”, Essays in Honor of Dr. Anne Thurston.

He is a member and Patron of the Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA); member of the Association of Commonwealth Archivists and Records Managers (ACARM) and founder Member of the International Records Management Trust (IRMT). He has worked extensively with Professional Groups such as the International Records Management Trust and the Association of Commonwealth Archivists and Records Managers to promote archival development in East, Southern and West Africa. He has recently co−authored a book chapter titled “Mainstreaming Records and Data Management in Sustainable Development: Lessons from the Public and Private Sectors in Kenya”, which is to be published by November 2020.
