Postdoctoral programme to provide an excellent individually tailored training scheme to boost the career chances of neutron researchers, especially in terms of expanding knowledge and increasing long-term employability.
Global Neutron Scientists (GNeuS) was established by the Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ), the Technical University Munich (TUM) and the Helmholtz Zentrum Hereon (HEREON), partners at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ).
The Global Neutron Scientists (GNeuS) COFUND Programme is co-funded by GNeuS and the European Union, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (grant agreement No 101034266).
The aim of the programme is to train young neutron scientists. The programme will be implemented as a global network in cooperation with world-leading neutron sources aiming to create a community of neutron experts able to use future facilities such as the European Spallation Source (ESS). In order to maximize the outcome for fellows, the three MLZ partners will join forces with 19 partner organisations representing research, academia and industry. The MLZ-partners will act as hiring organisations. The non-hiring partner organisations will provide fellows with options for secondments.
The proposed research programme may include up to three secondments with at least one mandatory secondment in a non-academic partner organisation.
