African seed fund for research and education

Imperial has launched a wide-ranging new seed fund for research and education projects with partners in Africa.

The College will provide funding for collaborations with partners at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and members of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA).

This spans 10 countries: Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.

Applications are open until Friday 16 September 2022.

TWAS - Elsevier Foundation Project Grants for Gender Equity and Climate Action

Under this scheme, grants are awarded to teams of 2-5 women for action-based projects which, although scientific in nature, will take them outside the lab to promote practical and tangible change under the umbrella of the “climate action” SDG in their local context. The principal applicant and project leader is a woman scientist, holding a PhD, living and working in a science and technology lagging country (STLC). Co-applicants are either scientists or technical experts in a field relevant to the project, from any developing country.

UNESCO’s International Fund for Cultural Diversity

UNESCO launches the thirteenth call for applications to the International Fund for  Cultural Diversity (IFCD), a multi donor fund established under the 2005 Convention for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Aimed at supporting the emergence of dynamic cultural sectors in developing countries, the call is open to projects from eligible countries that are Parties to the 2005 Convention.

Development Innovation Ventures

Development Innovation Ventures (DIV) provides grant funding to innovators and researchers to test new ideas, take strategic risks, build evidence of what works, and advance the best solutions.

DIV’s tiered-funding model embraces risk at early stages and mitigates risk at later stages, ensuring that funding is targeted to the most cost-effective innovations that can improve people’s lives.DIV takes a broad approach to innovation; innovations can be business models, products, behavioral interventions, applied research, or replications of proven innovations in novel environments. 

Wildlife Acoustics Grant Programme

Every quarter, Wildlife Acoustics will give away up to $12,000 worth of eligible products to grant recipients worldwide. Applicants may each request up to $4000 worth of products and software licenses. Recipients also have the opportunity to have their work featured on our website and social media channels.

Grant recipients must be associated with a charitable, educational or other tax-exempt organization.
