WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPMENT OF TRAINING GUIDELINES AND TOOLKITS FOR ENHANCING CAPACITY OF PHD STUDENTS AND EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS ON GRANT PROPOSAL WRITING

University of Nairobi won the Seed Grants for "Enhancing the capacity of PhD students and Early Career Researchers on Grants Proposal Writing from the CARTA Consortium.

It is in this regard that the office of DVC(RIE) organized for a Workshop on development of training guidelines and toolkits for enhancing capacity of PHD students and early career researchers on grant proposal writing that was held at Maasai lodge from 6th to 7th August  2024.

 

 

ARUA Holds Capacity Building Workshop for Institutional Research Managers

Prof. Stephen Kiama, Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi,  officially opened the University of Nairobi's third Capacity Building Workshop, The two-day workshop was held on June 24–25, 2024, as part of the ARUA-Carnegie Data-Gathering & Benchmarking Project's Phase 3 activities, which aimed to develop best practices for institutional research at ARUA universities and facilitate peer learning.

Innovation is the way to go! Nairobi Innovation Week 2024

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024 the University experienced a historical event that saw the Official Opening of the 8th edition of the Nairobi Innovation Week 2024 that was characterized by Innovation exhibitions, attendance by Faculty, Government and Government Agencies, Industry partners and the UoN students and their innovations.  

‘Innovation is the way to go!’ This is the collective message that was echoed by all those that spoke during ceremony.

ENHANCING CAPACITY OF PHD STUDENTS AND EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS ON GRANT PROPOSAL WRITING – CARTA PROJECT

Prof. M. J. Hutchinson DVC(RIE) Officially welcomed the Deans and Associate Deans in the
capacity strengthening training in grant proposal development meeting which took place at the University of Nairobi Towers on 12th April 2024.

Dr. Angeline Chepchirchir the  Project PI took over in explaining the role of Deans and Associate Deans /Directors, outlining the project activities and explained role of TOTs in mainstreaming grant proposal writing training at faculty level.

Kick off meeting workshop - “Empowering Tomorrow's Food Security Leaders: Strengthening Higher Education Capacity for Sustainable Food Systems in Kenya and Mozambique’’ (Food leader Project) a collaboration between Finland, Kenya and Mozambique aimed at enhancing the capacity of the institutions in educating future experts who can provide strategic leadership to enhance food safety and nutrition security officiated by our DVC RIE UoN.
