KENET Makes Open Call For Proposals for Research and Innovation Mini-Grants

Kenya Education Network (KENET) has made an open Call for Proposals for research and innovation mini-grants. Prof Meoli Kashorda, Executive Director KENET said that he would therefore like to draw our attention to this call to be awarded to university faculty teams that are members of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in priority academic areas of computer science, computational modelling (and BIG data in STEM areas), engineering and educational technology (EduTech).

UoN Hosts the 2nd Biennial ARUA Conference

The University of Nairobi was honored to host the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Second Biennial Conference on the 18th-20th of November 2019. The conference dubbed “Africa and the Fourth Industrial Revolution: Defining a Role for Research Universities”. This happened at the University towers. The two-day international conference was attended by over 220 participants from all over the world, with a great number of the participants being from ARUA member universities.

Effective usage of data, anywhere offers a fresh and effective way of providing real time information on any institution or entity. Proper and effective use of research data enables institutions to objectively and accurately track performance as well as make accurate strategic affirmations about any institution’s capacity.

Without a sound research activities data, strategic affirmations and attempts at evaluating performance remains general statements that are rarely backed up with reliable consistent data.

DVC RIE to Host Three Major Events in the Last Quarter of 2019

The office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research Innovation and Enterprise (DVC RIE) will host three (3) major events in the last quarter of the year. This events are expected to be of interest to all academics and researchers. The first vent is expected to be one of the biggest research events in the country. This is the Second Edition of the University of Nairobi Research Week which shall be held from October 22-25, 2019. The Research Week shall feature a series of conferences, workshops and seminars across a broad array of disciplines.

In what is expected to be one of the biggest research events in the country, the Second Edition of the University of Nairobi Research Week shall be held from October 22-25, 2019. The Research Week shall feature a series of conferences, workshops and seminars across a broad array of disciplines. The event has 13 confirmed conferences and 2 seminars.

Capacity Building training for Corruption Prevention Committees and integrity Assurance Officers

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) held a Capacity Building training for Corruption Prevention Committees and Integrity Assurance Officers on Monday, 8th April, 2019.

The workshop which was organized by the University of Nairobi in liason with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) was held in the School of Medicine Boardroom.

The event was graced by Prof. Stephen Kiama, the acting DVC Human Resource and Administration.
