The University of Nairobi (UoN) has launched a strategic digital programme to bolster its global research visibility and institutional ranking. A high-level workshop convened by the Research, Innovation, and Enterprise Division (RIE) underscored the commitment to ensuring that the university’s world-class scholarship and innovations are accessible to local, regional, and global audiences.

Defining the Research Future: University of Nairobi Research Policy Nears Completion

The University of Nairobi, through the Research, Innovation, and Enterprise (RIE) Division, is finalising a new Research Policy framework that will solidify its position as a global centre for discovery. The policy will also ensure that the research function is in step with the University’s 2023–2027 Strategic Plan; higher education regulatory requirements; and national, regional, and continental development priorities.

Strengthening Research Ecosystems: UoN and University of Manchester Partner for Equitable Research Management

On March 3, 2026, the University of Nairobi (UoN) and the University of Manchester (UoM) convened the "Equitable Partnerships for African Research Infrastructure and Capacity (EP for AfRICa)"  workshop at the Chiromo Campus. The two-day forward-looking activity, supported by the British Academy, is aimed at building robust and sustainable institutional systems for international academic collaborations.
