University of Michigan African Presidential Scholars (UMAPS) Program

The UMAPS Program brings early career faculty from African universities to Ann Arbor, Michigan. Scholars are paired with a faculty collaborator during their stay and have full access to the University of Michigan's (U-M) resources to further their work on a research project, an academic degree, publications, grant proposal, or other relevant activity.

The Africa Data Science Intensive (DSI) program is a hands-on skills training data science course based on solving real-world problems.

Big Data, data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence are driving a revolution around the world as companies rush to take advantage of their data and turn it into a competitive advantage. However there is a shortage of skilled data scientists and managers worldwide and this shortage is much worse in Africa.

Edward O. Wilson Biodiversity Postdoctoral Fellowship

Through a generous founding gift from Edward O. Wilson, Faculty-Curator Emeritus and University Research Professor Emeritus, and with support from additional donors, the Museum of Comparative Zoology (MCZ) at Harvard University has established the E.O. Wilson Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. This program supports postdoctoral researchers at MCZ to pursue the discovery and formal taxonomic description of Earth’s animal species.

Research core science independently: Ernest Rutherford Fellowship

Apply for funding to run an independent research project. The project must be within the remit of the STFC core science program.

You must be an early career researcher. Your application must be hosted and supported by an eligible UK research organisation.

You must hold a PhD and have clear leadership potential.

We will fund your proposal at 80% of its full economic cost. Your host research organisation must agree to fund the rest.

The fellowship will last up to five years.

 

African Center for Translational Genomics (ACTG) 2021 Academic Scholarship open to emerging genomic scientists.

The objectives of the center are to empower the next generation of African genomic scientists through the provision and implementation of grants, fellowships, and internships; enable better health outcomes by powering the discovery of disease variants which will significantly improve responses to drugs especially among African populations, and enhance therapy on the African continent by enabling individualized and precise care that utilizes patient unique genetic identity to develop new targets for medicine.

 

7th edition of science by women program request for applications for visiting senior research fellowships in Spanish centers of excellence

The Women for Africa Foundation (FMxA), in line with its mission of contributing to the development of Africa through the drive of its women, is launching the 7th Edition of SCIENCE BY WOMEN programme, with the aim to promote African women’s leadership in scientific research and technology transfer and to foster the capacity of the research centres in their home countries.
