The 3rd UoN ResearchWeek Ends Today

This is the last day of the 3rd Research Week which begun on October 12, 2020. Today's programme has four (4) conferences closing. They are the AIBUMA Conference, the 3rd Status of African Women Conference, the 3rd Annual Nairobi International Multidisciplinary Conference and the College of Biological and Physical Sciences (CBPS) Conference.

By the end of today, a total of 13 conferences will have run at the weeklong event. Hosting 868 paid global participants from academia, government and industry, 347 presentations and 40+ Keynotes is quite a mean fete.

Celebrating the Organizers of Research Week 2020

The 3rd Research Week 2020 is scheduled for October 12 -16, 2020. The annual event, hosted by the University of Nairobi, features 13 different conferences covering a diverse range of academic disciplines and is expected to bring together over 800 participants comprising researchers, scholars, students and practitioners from all over the world.

We celebrate the Conference Chairs and the Secretariat from the Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Research, Innovation and Enterprise, who have really worked hard to ensure that all the conferences are a great success.

The 3rd Research Week kicked off on a high note on October 12, 2020 with six conferences starting their proceedings. A total of 13 conferences will run at the weeklong event. Albeit, virtual, this year’s Research Week numbers are quite impressive. 868 paid global participants from academia, government and industry, 347 presentations and 40+ Keynotes is quite a mean fete.

Research Week 2020 is Finally Here

The University of Nairobi will be hosting the first ever virtual Research Week from the 12th to 16th of October 2020. Due to the on-going COVID-19 Pandemic, the conferences will be held online. There are 868 registered participants from the 5 continents who will participate in the event.

This is the 3rd of the annual event and will comprise of 13 separate academic conferences. Expected are global participants from academia, government and industry. There are 347 presentations with 40 plus Keynote speakers.

Emergence of the All Africa Postharvest Congress and Exhibition: Creating Awareness about Food Loss and Waste and Sustainable Solutions

The 74th United Nations General Assembly designated 29 September as the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, recognizing the fundamental role that sustainable food production and consumption plays in promoting food security and nutrition. Observance of this day globally marks a clear call to action for all stakeholders in both the public and private sectors to bolster efforts to reduce food loss and waste.

Prof. Kithaka wa Mberia Confirmed as a Keynote speaker at the Research Week 2020

Prof. Kithaka wa Mberia has been confirmed as a Keynote speaker at the 3rd Annual Conference on the Role of Literature in a Global World themed Eastern African Literatures in the 21st Century: Achievements, Challenges, Perspectives of the Research Week 2020.  He is a professor in the Department of Linguistics and Languages, University of Nairobi, where he has taught for close to four decades.

Prof. Walter O. Oyawa Confirmed as a Keynote Speaker at the Research Week 2020

Prof. Walter O. Oyawa has been confirmed as a Keynote Speaker at the 3rd Annual Architecture and Engineering Conference hosted by the College of Architecture and Engineering under the theme “Research and Projects on Innovations in Technology and Manufacturing, Sustainable Environment and Secure Energy Systems” in the Research Week 2020. He is currently the Director General of the National Commission for Science, Technology & Innovation (NACOSTI).
