Research Week 2021 Kicks off

The 4th Annual University of Nairobi Research Week kicked off on a high note with three (3) conferences starting on Day 1. By the end of the event, over 500 participants would have benefited from, 30+ keynote presentations, 150 abstracts, and 8 conferences with the overarching theme ‘Rethinking Research, Innovation & Technology for Sustainable Development.

The University of Nairobi wins Kenya Space Agency Research Grant

The University of Nairobi emerged top to win the Kenya Space Agency (KSA), Research Grant for the FY 2021/2022. KSA had set aside Kshs. 10 million for the award of Research Chairs meant for the development of 3U Nanosatellite Model, Land cover data collection Application Development and Small-Scale crop mapping Application using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning.

SURE-FOOD Official Inception Workshop

On Monday, September 20th, the official Inception Workshop of the SURE-FOOD project took place at the University of Nairobi’s Upper Kabete Campus.

The workshop was officially opened by the Associate Vice-chancellor in charge of Research, Innovation & Enterprise. In attendance were the Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, and the Chairman, Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Technology.

National Cohesion Integration Commission Discuss Collaboration With UoN

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research Innovation and Enterprise (DVC RIE) Prof. Horace Ochanda hosted the Commission Secretary to National Cohesion Integration Commission (NCIC) Dr. Skitter W. Mbugua (HSC) in a meeting on behalf of the Vice Chancellor to discuss possible collaboration on research and cohesion issues.

DVC RIE Receives Perfomance Contract Results

The DVC Research Innovation and Enterprise, Prof. Horace Ochanda received the Performance Contract results at his office. To present him with the PC results was Mr. Kelly Akuku, Ms. Roselyne Shihemi and Ms. Teresia Muthoni of the University's Transformation, Performance Management and Reforms Unit (TPMRU) office. The DVC was accompanied by the Senior Admin. Ms. Elsa Ouma.
