The University of Nairobi was privileged by the visit of the ARUA Secretary General Prof. Ernest Aryeetey who has begun a tour of six member universities in East Africa. He will be holding a series of meetings with the ARUA Coordinators/Spokes at the University of Nairobi.
The Director Research Prof Justus M Munyoki and the Deputy Director IT (Management Information Systems) Dr Caroline Chepkoech Kiptoo participated in a two week Benchmarking study tour of the University of Pretoria from 25th July to 5th August 2022.

The Carnegie-sponsored ARUA Data-Gathering and Benchmarking Capacity Building Workshop held in Accra a fortnight ago was very successful. There were over 40 participants from 14 member universities. On 12th July 2022 the office of the Vice Chancellor (RIE) received a visitor (Consultant/data coach) Dr Emmanuel Nii Abbey to discuss the work being done with data staff, assess the institutional support for the data-gathering exercise, and discuss how best ARUA might be able to assist in improving the quality of the data and enhancing further the capacity of the data team.
