COURTESY CALL BY UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE, KNOXVILLE TEAM

The  Associate Vice Chancellor (RIE) on 12th January 2023 held a courtesy call meeting with representative from University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Dr Jamie Mcgowan,  Director, Global Research Office. Various areas of collaborations was discussed where it was agreed that further engagements will be held to firm up areas of collaborations and develop a Memorandum of understanding for the two institutions. 

It was further agreed  that a team from the University of Tennessee will visit the University of Nairobi in June 2023.

We look forward to this collaborations.

LAUNCH OF ARUA COE-NCD CENTRE

The Launch of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence for Non Communicable Diseases (ACE-NCDs) took place on Tuesday December 6 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM EAT at Taifa Hall Main campus UON.

This event marks the launch of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Non-Communicable Diseases, whose aim is to develop and support NCD research and capacity building training on NCD prevention and management in Sub-Saharan Africa and guide NCDs policy formulation.

On October 30th 2022  the Associate Vice Chancellor (RIE),Prof. Margaret J. Hutchinson  received a short courtesy visit by two Professors from North Carolina State University. They were brought in by Prof R.O. Nyankanga, Department of Plant Science and Crop Protection  after being  up-country for two weeks meeting with Indigenous Vegetable and Aquaculture farmers in the process of developing a joint proposal with KALRO, KMFR and University of Nairobi. 

The  Professors shared what they were proposing to do and other  possible collaborations with North Carolina State University.
